Quel’Thalas Reforged – A Fully Rebuilt Zone

Quel’Thalas Reforged – A Fully Rebuilt Zone

Midnight introduces a completely reconstructed version of Quel’Thalas, where Silvermoon, Eversong Woods, and the Ghostlands are merged into one vast, fully explorable zone with no loading screens.
The area has been upgraded with modern graphics, new models, dynamic flora, and remastered elven architecture.

What the Zone Includes:

Dynamic Events:
Map-wide activities appearing at regular intervals (sieges, Void rituals, Sunwell defenses, ambushes).
3-Player Mini-Scenarios:
Short, open instances—similar to “micro-dungeons”—featuring quick objectives and cosmetic rewards.
Void Distortions:
Temporary areas where the environment collapses and rules change (stronger enemies, environmental debuffs, unique bonuses).
Faction Missions:
Each new faction has dedicated points of interest, with repeatable activities and weekly progression.
World Bosses:
Elite enemies—some static, others mobile—requiring large groups to defeat.
Void Sieges:
Large public events where players defend key locations or repel invading forces.

RAID

RAID

The Voidspire (6 Bosses)
A large raid set inside the heart of the Voidstorm, serving as Xal’atath’s primary stronghold. Players will battle powerful Void entities as they climb through the spire, culminating in a major confrontation tied to Midnight’s core story.
Release: Available at the start of Season 1.

The Dreamrift (1 Boss)
A compact, single-boss raid that takes players to a place where the barrier between primal dreams and harsh reality is thin. Designed as a focused narrative encounter that supports the expansion’s themes.
Release: Available at the start of Season 1, alongside The Voidspire.

March on Quel’Danas (2 Bosses)
A short but highly story-critical raid set during the assault on Quel’Danas. It contains major narrative developments and acts as a bridge between Voidspire’s events and the continuation of Midnight’s campaign.
Release: Releases later into the tier, roughly 2–3 weeks after the first two raids.
New Devourer Demon Hunter Specialization

New Devourer Demon Hunter Specialization

No longer are Demon Hunters stuck with just two specializations! With Midnight, Demon Hunters will be getting a third specialization called Devourer Demon Hunters. This new specialization is available with the Midnight pre-patch, with no pre-requisites or unlock required!

The Devourer Demon Hunter is a mid-range DPS specialization that uses a mix of ranged and melee abilities Void and Cosmic damage to their enemies! Here's a quick preview of Devourer's core abilities:
  • Reap - A scythe attack that consumes soul fragments.
  • Voidblade & Hungering Slash - Melee combo with a retreat movement.
  • Collapsing Star - A powerful finisher.
  • Void Ray - A piercing beam of Void energy.
  • Void Metamorphosis - Void-themed transformation sustained by soul harvesting.

New Haranir Allied Race

New Haranir Allied Race

Midnight brings us a new Allied Race, one we met briefly in The War Within, the Haranir. This new race is unlocked during the main story Campaign in Harandar.
These ancient hunters hail from the hidden land Harandar, one of the new expansion zones.

For the Haranir, the roots of the World Trees are home, and architecture is grown, rather than built; reminiscent in style to the botani of Draenor, their homes are shaped from roots and glowing mushrooms.

The Haranir are a neutral Allied Race, making them available to both the Horde and the Alliance. Along with being a neutral Allied Race, the Haranir will have nine classes available to them: Druid, Hunter, Mage, Monk, Priest, Rogue, Shaman, Warlock, and Warrior.

Haranir having Druid as a playable class also means new Druid travel forms! These travel forms feature a unique array of creatures including werebears, humanoid owls, lynxes, and more!
NEW ZONES

NEW ZONES

Midnight brings us back to the ancient lands of Quel'Danas, located in the north of the Eastern Kingdoms. Silvermoon City has been fully rebuilt and will serve as the player hub for the expansion. Players will level to 90 across four zones, both new and reimagined. The following sections will give a small preview of each zone and what they have to offer.
PREY

PREY

Based in Silvermoon City's Murder Row, Prey is a new opt-in outdoor World mode for players seeking more challenge. Led by Magister Astalor Bloodsworn, players hunt down powerful targets across the new zones but beware, your prey may also be hunting you...

This outdoor activity is entirely optional, allowing players to opt out of participating if they don't want to.

There are three difficulty tiers available with Prey:
  • Normal: Introductory hunts, mostly easy to allow players to familiarize themselves with the system.
  • Hard: Introduces Torments, which increase the challenge of a hunt. Hard difficulty includes confined final encounters.
  • Nightmare: Pushes the challenge to the max. WARNING: may include a few corpse runs.
Prey is part of the World Content row in the Great Vault, where players can earn up to and including Hero-track gear. Other notable rewards from this system include cosmetics, mounts, titles, and Housing items.
Transmog Updates

Transmog Updates

The Transmog System is seeing a much-needed overhaul.
  • Transmog is now slot-based: you can assign certain transmog to each armor slot, instead of the specific armor piece. Whenever a new piece of armor is obtained, swapping it to your current transmog appearance will no longer cost gold.
  • Changing the assigned transmog in each armor slot will still cost gold.
  • You can create outfits that auto-swap based on context. For example, players can create a transmog selection that automatically switches when relaxing in their home versus being in the outdoor world.
  • Fully collecting a Class Set appearance unlocks all lower difficulty variants.
  • The Transmog UI has been updated.

NEW BATTLEGROUNDS

NEW BATTLEGROUNDS

PvP players will receive a new PvP area that will do double duty. Located in Voidstorm, Slayer's Rise is both a World PvP zone and a new 40 v. 40 Battleground. The Battleground version is inspired by Alterac Valley and Isle of Conquest; players will conquer enemy bases and then fight the Domanaar commander.

Comp Stomp will become a permanent mode and will rotate between the current Arathi Basin, Battle for Gilneas, and Silvershard Mines. The intention is that this mode will be a training ground for future PvPers as well as those looking to switch classes or specs.
