Patch 11.2 “Ghosts of K’aresh” marks the final major update of The War Within cycle, scheduled for August 6, 2025. The patch takes players to K’aresh, the ruined homeland of the Ethereals, to stop the awakening of the powerful Void lord, Dimensius.

The updated deserter system includes two main features:
- Mandatory vote to leave: players must vote as a group before abandoning a Mythic+ run.
- Visual flag for frequent quitters: players who regularly leave keys will be visibly marked, allowing others to identify unreliable teammates.
- Season 2 gear will no longer be upgradable beyond rank 6 in patch 11.2: we recommend maxing it out before the patch goes live.
- Blizzard has confirmed that Valor Stones will not be reset at the start of the new season: it's wise to stock up as many as possible ahead of time.
- Withdraw any useful items from your personal bank: the system may become temporarily inaccessible at launch.
